For those of you active in Facebook: today Zune released the official Zune Social app.  Now your Zune Card can be placed on your Facebook page where it updates automatically to show people what you’ve recently been listening to on your Zune or via the Zune software on your PC. Download the card through the the Facebook applications page.

My Zune Card - I'm coming up on 20k plays!

stop with the social and on with the software/firmware updates! :-)

I said that with a smiley so you know I said it with love.

11,428 for me :)

I have a zune card app...on facebook...bit don't see "official" one

Link anyone?

Purchased another iPod today why? because MSoft hasnt released the outside of North America and wont give a clear indication of when and continue to skirt the issue.

I added the card but it says music activity is not viewable. Is there some setting I need to change on the zune site?

cool. Although there are already many versions made by other people, I think this one works best and it's official. Just a small suggestion though: make it so people don't have to click on it to show my zune card.

oh, and it would be nice if it displayed videos I watched. Plus that would advertise the ability to watch recorded tv on it, which is pretty much my favorite feature.

This whould have been nice, if your card could be updated from outside the US too

I think that the efforts behind Social will show if you can manufacture the groupthink that 'that other mp3 player' manages to leverage. The problem with the Social is that unless you have a Zune, there is no reason to join. Now by being on Facebook, you get the chance to create that feeling of 'need to join' that some competitors use effectively. I think that it is a good move for Zune. That said,

Show all my Zune friends in a dedicated contact group e.g. "My Zune friends" within my Live Contacts (http://contacts.live.com).

Allow me to invite Zune Social members to be Live Messenger contacts.

Allow me to invite my Zune friends to be Live Spaces friends and vice versa.

On Zune Social, display whether I am online or not and thus build instant messaging into Zune Social

Have some sort of chat room in Zune Social that I can interact with using Live Messenger.

Show my most recently listened to song on my Live Messenger status

Show where in the world my Zune friends live on a Virtual Earth map

Use Live Alerts to tell me when someone has replied to one of my forum postings

Put a Zune tab into Live Messenger which displays mine and my friends' Zune Tags. Or, let me right-click on a contact in Live Messenger and let me see their Zune Tag.

Synchronise photos from Live Spaces onto my Zune

Synchronise videos from MSN Soapbox onto my Zune

Build a Windows Live Toolbar button that takes me to Zune Social

Let us form communities (after Windows Live Groups comes out) around artists that we like. Surface these communities in Zune Social. Perhaps even automatically place me into groups based on what I listen to.

Display pertinent Zune info on my Live Spaces news feed (e.g. A friend has added a new favorite on Zune Social, A particular band has gone to the top of a friend's 'most listened to' list, someone else likes the same music as me, Someone has sent me a message on Zune Social etc...)

Let me view messages in my Zune Social inbox from within Windows Live Mail

Put a "blog this" link in various places in Zune Social that then launches me into a new blog entry in Live Spaces.

I could have a category on my Live Spaces blog called "Zune". And blogs in that category automatically appear in my Zune profile

Put a Zune tab into Live Messenger which displays mine and my friends' Zune Tags. Or, let me right-click on a contact in Live Messenger and let me see their Zune Tag.

ewwwww look at what hes listning to!!! what a loseer...hahaha jokes jokes jokes (poking fun at the post from the other day)

I already got it for my Facebook. :)

How about one for Windows Live and MySpace? That would be nice too.

@juke - great wishlist. At the moment Zune and the Social is *really* playing catchup with iTunes and the Apple "cool" halo. Unless MS can pick up their agility factor and the Zune will continue to langish down there with Sansa and Creative in the "also ran" with no noticable ecosystem or momentumn.

On the subject Cesar.... any chance of suggesting we get a native Scrobbling capability that works for both the Zune desktop app and the player as well.... I Scrobble everything from WMP, iTunes, SlimServer and going Zune would make me less social!

I'm not a Zune user yet but thinking about it ... http://tinyurl.com/2rgja5

My buddy Max at Channel 8 came to campus and did a quick video with me, right here at my desk in Zuneland.

you should be able to become friends right while you are on your zune!
