A quesiton: what's the back made of?

Cesar, why is that the back is not shown in any of the pictures or videos of the new Zunes? Could you post some pictures of the Zunes at some more angle views.

From what I've heard, the screen will be made of glass, and the body is made of some sort sort of aluminum, not of plastic like the Zune 30. (I used to own an Cowon iAudio X5, and the material looks similar)

I'd just like some pictures and descriptions of how the body of the new Zunes are(what they're made of, scratch resistant, etc.)Thanks!

Also, I was curious that since you guys are putting all of the features on the gen1 Zune is there any reason beyond a 0.2" bigger screen and the Zune Pad to get the gen2 Zune? I'm going to get one this XMas and was wondering if I should just get the Gen1 Zune, or if there's a good reason, to go to the Gen2 Zune?

And curiously, I know this is sort of premature to be thinking this, but do you guys plan to do the same thing with future Zune generations by allowing the previous generation to get the new features?

But why would you remove the brown devices, and the double shot?

I loved the double shot, it really made the Zune beautiful.

Brown made it unique. It was the one player that said "We're different. Deal with it."

And also, the silver backing looks messed up... It just doesn't fit the device.

Really, All I'd like to see is the Double shot back. Please?

I saw this earlier, its an awesome video. It should be like, some promotional thing on TV.

The units are probably already in production, or produced and waiting for shipping. Whatever they look like/are made of is already set in stone.

Thanks so much for posting this video.  It is exciting to see the new devices in action.  I can't wait for the software update, too.  I was really beginning to wonder when Microsoft was going to announce Zune 2 and I'm glad the announcement has finally been made. Now I have to decide if I will get a Zune 2 and a Flash Zune, or just the Flash Zune and stick with my Zune 1

No, it's pretty much a religion.

I converted a bunch of guys at school to Zune (even got a girl to get a Pink One, and a Halo3 Zune popped up as well)

Things died down a bit, but people were definitely feeling the Zune.

With this new generation it will be the straw on the iPod's back if executed correctly. The PR and announcement was executed flawlessly.

I don't know if the info leaks were purposeful or not, but they built up enough hype to get people riled up about the Zune.

When endgadget doesn't have a negative thing to say about the Zune, that's when you know things are bright.

Keep up the amazing work (don't forget to catch a break and drink some cold ones).

Please tell me that you can pause a podcast (or other long audio file) while you synch or play some other content and then come back to where you left off.  It is what currently keeps the Zune from being a great podcast device.

This is one thing I like about Macintosh, and wonder if Microsoft will ever commit to it.

And, I think everyone who believed in you from the beginning deserves a 10% discount. I mean..come on

Or better, why not offer a discount to those recycling an iPod to get the Zune.  :)

I hope that some of those features will be available for my first gen Zune.  I am awaiting the redesigned store and the firmware.

So you want $25 for your 1st generation Zune?  Hell I will buy it off you for that if all you want off is 10%.  Apple only does that promotion to sucker the dumbest of suckers to give up their MP3 players for $25-30 so they can buy another iPod that will be worthless in a yr

That was a great video. I enjoyed the background music. I really think you need at least one Beta Tester for the firmware upgrade on V1's. I volunteer. I love my Zune and am looking foward to the improvements. Thanks to the entire Zune team!

That's what I'm considering. My Dell is old and I've bought a MacBook Pro to replace it already. (Shhh... don't tell Dell.) Plus, the truth is that the new Zunes look far better sitting beside my Mac than the new iPod Nano/Classic does. (Shhh.. don't tell Apple.)

well, i'll throw in my question and hope you address it.  at the new zune social site it asks for a barcode.  it isn't the s/n on your zune (i entered that, and it wouldn't take it), so i'm guessing this is the invite for the beta.  so, the obvious question is:  how do i get an invite?  i'm very interested in this.  obviously, i in now way believe that the zune team's decision to develop this type of feature is due to my urging, but you do know that i've commented repeatedly on here about such and even written you emails about it.  i mean, i think i've shown sufficient interest so as to warrant an invite.  let me know what i need to do.

It'll be a way for unsigned artists to provide tracks and artwork (album and the like) to audience members who show up to their shows (using the "Social" aspect of the Zune). I wouldn't say the recycle is useless. Some people may decide to throw away their zune, or see it as no value, or maybe it's extremely beat up - like my screen is starting to get because I took it with my while I was a camp councilor over the summer. Also, if they actually recycle it it looks good for the public eye. And, it's not going to hurt the zune at all.

At any rate, I was just wondering. But I guess it's not going to happen.
